Paediatric First Aid (PFA)

Paediatric Emergency First Aid (PEFA)

The cost of this course ranges from  £600.00 to  £850.00 Inclusive of VAT, when run at your venue. This is for a group of up to 12 delegates and includes either a certificate of Attendance or RQF level 3 certification and a manual 

(printed or eBook’s).

The course is inline with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and meets the needs of Ofsted. It is suitable for Childminders, Nursery and School Staff (dealing with Foundation Stage) and anybody who deals with children and wants a more in-depth course.  


Course Duration:- 2 Days or 12 hours. Please book 2 dates.  


The required EYFS syllabus:- 

  • Be able to assess an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take 
  • Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally 
  • Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally 
  • Help a baby or child who is having a seizure 
  • Help a baby or child who is choking 
  • Help a baby or child who is bleeding 
  • Help a baby or child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss (hypovolemic shock) 
  • Help a baby or child who is suffering from anaphylactic shock 
  • Help a baby or child who has had an electric shock 
  • Help a baby or child who has burns or scalds 
  • Help a baby or child who has a suspected fracture 
  • Help a baby or child with head, neck or back injuries 
  • Help a baby or child who is suspected of being poisoned 
  • Help a baby or child with a foreign body in eyes, ears or nose 
  • Help a baby or child with an eye injury 
  • Help a baby or child with a bite or sting 
  • Help a baby or child who is suffering from the effects of extreme heat or cold 
  • Help a baby or child having: a diabetic emergency; an asthma attack; an allergic reaction; meningitis; and/or febrile convulsions 
  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider (including appropriate contents of a first aid box and the need for recording accidents and incidents)  


Certification:- 

Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, you will receive either a Certificate of Attendance or Ofqual Approved FAA Level 3 Paediatric first aid certification is dependent on successful completion of theory exam and continuous assessment of the delegates.  Those who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with an FAA RQF Level 3 certificate that is valid for three years. 


Under the current guidelines it is strongly recommended that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update every twelve months.

This course is suitable for some individuals who care for young children in the absence of their parents. This includes Nursery Staff, Nannies, Au Pairs, or parents wanting to learn lifesaving skills.  


If 100% of your staff are paediatric first aid trained you can apply for Millies Mark.  


Course Duration:- 

This one day (6 hour) course is delivered 


Syllabus:-

The cost of this course ranges from  £275.00 to £400.00 Inclusive of VAT, when run at your venue. This is for a group of up to 12 delegates and includes either a certificate of Attendance or RQF level 2 certification and a manual 

(printed or eBook’s).

Syllabus:-  

  • Paediatric Basic Life Support provides learners with knowledge of CPR.
  • Safe use of an AED. 
  • Primary Survey, Secondary Survey  
  • Recover Position. 
  • Choking. 


This course is suitable for all persons and provides vital life-saving actions to take in an emergency.


  Certification: -

Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, you will receive either a Certificate of Attendance or Ofqual Approved Certification FAA RQF level 2 is dependent on successful completion of theory exam and continuous assessment of the delegates. Those students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate that is valid for three years. 


FAA Level 2 Award or FAA Level 5 Scotland Award
